Jakarta continues to face significant challenges in managing domestic wastewater. With a growing population, only a small portion of the capital city is served by a wastewater piped system. This situation has the potential to degrade environmental quality, contaminate groundwater, and impact public health.
To resolve this challenge, the government launched the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project (JSDP) to expand wastewater treatment service coverage. One of the key stages of this project is the construction of Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Zone 1 in Pluit, North Jakarta. The installation of embedded pipes, which is part of PT Tohoma Mandiri’s scope of work, plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective conveyance of wastewater within the treatment plant area.
Currently, the work is in the full monitoring stage making sure everything is installed correctly, matches the technical specs, and meets the required safety standards.
