Harbor Road Project P 18AS Tunnel Construction Work by PT Tohoma Mandiri

PT Tohoma Mandiri has completed work on the P18AS project with the scope of tunnel construction work which will function as a gas pipe repair room. The dimensions of the tunnel that has been worked on include 6 meters, 1.8 meters wide and 2.5 meters high.

The project uses the innovative Pipe Jacking Microtunneling method, enabling tunnel construction with high precision and minimal environmental impact. In addition, this project is significant in the maintenance and repair of gas pipelines in the region. The success of this project confirms that our expertise and commitment to high quality will provide a strong foundation for future projects using innovative technologies.

Facing Various Challenges, PT Tohoma Mandiri once again succeeded in Breakthrough the WWTP B1 Makassar Project

Finally! Once again, PT Tohoma Mandiri succeeded in making a breakthrough using the Jacking Microtunneling method on the Makassar WWTP B1 Project, Makassar City Main Waste Water Channel Work Package. The SPAN with the Jongaya Canal crossing that we successfully completed from Departure MH10343 to Arrival MH10340 has a length of 150.66 meters with 62 pipes.

The Microtunneling Jacking method allows us to deal with various obstacles. This includes the drilling route passing under the Jongaya Canal, which is a densely populated area so we have to drill without having a negative impact on the environment. The entire process is also carried out carefully and meticulously, ensuring that each step is carried out optimally and in accordance with procedures.

PT Tohoma Mandiri has successfully undertaken a project aimed at enhancing wastewater management in the urban areas of Makassar City. Serving as a Sub-Contractor, we specialized in microtunneling DN1000mm, with strong support from PT PP as the Main Contractor. The Palembang City B2B WWTP project was built with the aim of reducing waste water pollution while improving the health quality of Palembang City residents. PT Tohoma Mandiri as one of the sub-contractors for this project also succeeded in completing the scope of work with a final span of 81m using the DN1000 jacking pipe method.

PT Tohoma Mandiri succed making a breakthrought at WWTP B1 Makassar Project

PT Tohoma Mandiri succeeded in making a breakthrough on the Makassar B1 Wastewater Treatment Plant Project, Makassar City Main Wastewater Channel Work Package. The length of the span that we succeeded in working from the Departure Inlet Chamber to Arrival MH10347 was 87.48 meters using the jacking method.

This project has been running with PT. PP (Housing Development) – Memiontec (KSO) as Main Contractor, and PT Tohoma Mandiri as Sub Contractor for the DN1000mm microtunneling work. PUPR Minister's visit to the IPAL B1 Makassar Project

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono accompanied by the Mayor of Makassar Muhammad Ramdhan Pomanto visited the Wastewater Treatment Plant B1 installation project in Makassar on July 27 2023. This project has been running together with PT. PP (Housing Development) as Main Contractor.

During this visit, the Minister of PUPR conducted a review of the Centralized Domestic Wastewater Management System in the Metropolitan Sanitation Management Investment Project (MSMIP) program. This program aims to improve wastewater services in urban areas.

The scope of our work is to install wastewater treatment using the microtunneling jacking method, which began with the installation of the first DN1000mm pipe on July 6, 2023. Microtunneling or the process of building tunnels using a drilling machine (Microtunnel Boring Machines, MTBM) combined with jacking pipe techniques to install pipes underground in one driving. This process is carried out with the aim of avoiding open excavation.

In other methods, it often causes congestion because it requires diverting traffic lanes. However, Microtunneling operates underground and does not disrupt with traffic areas, so it does not cause congestion or noise problems. The Microtunneling of DN1000 work using the jacking method at this time is the longest span in the Palembang B2B WWTP work with a length of 143 m. Our team managed to achieve an average production progress of 12m/day with a maximum achievement of 16m/day.

The trace that we are working on does not experience significant geological obstacles, this is supported by the results of the analysis carried out by the geolytic team which shows similarities to the previous spans and traces that we have successfully worked on. As a result of good perfomance and proper supervision, the project is running well and achieving optimal results.

The microtunneling work on this route is special, where the drilling route passes under the Ampera Bridge, the Terminal. the Main Market and also the Palembang City LRT Overpass.The area is a critical area and crowded populated. As for the extra challenges that we have to face in this project, we need to drill in dense areas without affecting the surrounding environment such as traffic jams or technical problems in public facilities. Beside the existing of challenges, our team managed to carry out the project in a professional work with the best result.

Doing such a prominent project is pushing our team to give the best skill and science considering its safety and quality. Thus we are supported by precise information regarding geologist soil structure clearly provided by responsible parties. During this stage we expedite the jacking process, targeting 11.62 meter per day and proudly able to achieve 16.00 meter as the best result. There are some soil types that we have faced on this area such as clay, sandy soil, and silt.
